Presidential Palace

Type: Monument
Location: city centre

Address: Krakowskie Przedmiescie 46/48

Presidential Palace (Palac Prezydencki) has been the residence of Poland’s President since 1994. The palace is also known by other names: Palac Koniecpolskich, Lubomirskich, Radziwillow or Pałac Namiestnikowski. This classical building dates back to 1643, however it has been rebuilt and remodeled many times throughout the centuries. For its first 175 years, the palace was the private property of several aristocratic families. The building witnessed some crucial historic events such as the signing of the Warsaw Pact in 1955 and the Government-Solidarity “Round Table Talks” in 1989. On the palace’s courtyard there is a statue of prince Jozef Poniatowski on horseback.
